UN Hub for “Higher Education”

 

George Mason University welcomes the opportunity to collect materials for the UN Academic Impact hub “Higher Education Opportunity for Every Interested Individual.” The goal of the hub is to provide up to date information on the work of the the UN and universities  in advancing higher education opportunities for students and scholars around the world.

While there are many factors that impact education opportunities, specific areas being covered by this hub that are:

  • Conflict
  • Diversity
  • Well-being
  • General Themes, Research and Publications

We encourage you to share research, ideas, and other material! Please contact tmorga20@gmu.edu and include your name, affiliation, and provide an attachment or link to the information.

George Mason is working with  UNESCO (United Nations Educational, Scientific, and Cultural Organization), the only United Nations agency with a mandate in higher education. UNESCO fosters innovation to meet education and workforce needs and examines ways of increasing higher education opportunities for people from vulnerable and disadvantaged groups.

Special plans are underway at George Mason and other universities accredited to the UN and Academic Impact (UNAI) members  to celebrate the 70th anniversary of both the United Nations and UNESCO in 2015. For more information or to participate, please contact staylor9@gmu.edu.
